STUDENTS RAISE $4,850 FOR ALYSSA'S ANGELS FOUNDATION
IN WEST LONG BRANCH
Money Was Raised Through Annual Greek Week Penny Wars Event.
Students at Monmouth University raised $4,850 for Alyssa’s Angels Foundation in West Long Branch. The money will be used to help build a playground for children with special needs at Conway Park in West Long Branch.
Money was raised through the annual Greek Week Penny Wars event. During the Penny Wars week, students place dollars and silver change in their own fraternity or sorority jugs outside the student center during Greek Week, while putting pennies in their opponent’s jugs. All bills and silver change are positive points and pennies are negative points. This year, the event raised $5,100 with $250 going to the West Long Branch First Aid Squad for their help during Greek Week and the rest, $4,850, going to Alyssa’s Angels.
