Local Golfers Score for Alyssa’s Angels
Money raised at a golf outing held by the Celtic Cottage and P.G. Fields Public House has been donated to Alyssa’s Angels Fund to honor 6-year-old Alyssa Cantaffa, who lives in West Long Branch. Alyssa was afflicted with mental and physical handicaps after her battle at age three weeks with Pertussis (whooping cough) that almost took her life.
The outing at Old Orchard Golf Club featured a buffet lunch and prizes for the first three winners (third place was split three ways by tie scores) in the Calloway (they called it Galway, being an Irish host). Winner was Lou Fulgoni with a 72, and “Low Net” went to Jim Perri, another Irishman.
There were four Closest To the Pin on holes 3, 6, 17 and 14 (Tony Antiorio, Rich Stahk, Chris O’Brien and Henry Stoop.) Longest Drive went to Bobby C. and Jim Perri. Straightest Drivewent to Ryan Bradley. Bob Carver won an attendance award, we think for showing up, which went to the Fund.
A big thanks goes to the barstaff and the kitchen staffs for making the event a great day. And there was even a promise to make next year even better.
