From my family's heart I just wanted to take a quick moment to thank you again on line.
The speaking device that was donated from you hearts, to our son Cody Heer, in the time we have been working with it, has put a smile on his face. The night we recieved it I spent the night figuring the best way to use it with him and programming it. Needless to say the next day at work I was a bit tired. It was well worth it.
He was quick understanding to use it in asking for his favorite snacks and activities. I even put a prompt on it so he could say hello to me when I came home from work. I would walk in the door, he would smile and wave to me and handed the device he could say HELLO. This has also seemed to promote more verbal responses we never heard before and an increase in sign language. It seems to help him understand communication which was his major difficulty on the Autistic Spectrum.
I still have intention on sending a dvd video of his use I promised but in the meantime I had this moment to say Thank You from the Heer Family.
It is people like you that help hold our family tightly together.
